NINE LADY BEARS NAMED ALL-DISTRICT
November 14 – The 2024 18-4A All-District Volleyball team was announced and nine Lady Bears were named to this years team. Jada Montagne was named Setter of the Year, Lindi Perry was named MB of the Year, and Ava White was named Utility Player of the Year. Paisley Angelle and Jazel Guilbeaux were named 1st Team. Miya Hoy and Asia Woodson were named 2nd Team. Aubrey Temple and Jannilie Nazario were named Honorable Mention.
ANGELLE SELECTED LADY BEARS AOW
November 11 – Congratulations to junior Paisley Angelle for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. Paisley had outstanding postseason performances last week against Bullard & Huffman-Hargrave. She put together a superb stat line on both the offensive & defensive ends, including a career-high 22 kills in the Bi-District Playoff Round. In the two matches combined, Paisley accumulated an impressive 32 kills, 24 digs, and 4 aces.

SENIORS NAMED LADY BEARS AOW
November 4 – Congratulations to volleyball seniors Ava White, Jazel Guilbeaux, Lindi Perry, and Janniliz Nazario for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athletes of the Week. These girls are truly one of a kind. Last week, they greatly contributed to the team’s pair of victories against Vidor and Hardin. Lindi led in blocking, Ava made a positive impact from both front and back row, Jazel’s fiery offense kept the team competitive, and Janniliz was a spark defensively. The amount of support and unity these seniors have brought to the team this season is beyond compare. And, they aren’t done yet! Playoffs begin tonight, and there’s no doubt the “fabulous four” will do whatever it takes to extend their final season as a Lady Bear.

October 29 (LCM) – LCM sunk the Vidor Lady Pirates in three sets. The Lady Bears head into their warm-up game 31-13 (10-2 in district) before the playoffs begin. It was also senior night for the three Lady Bear seniors: Lindi Perry, Jazel Guilbeaux, Janniliz Nazario, and Ava White. VARSITY VOLLEYBALL NAMED ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
October 28 – Congratulations to the varsity volleyball team for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athletes of the Week. The playoff bound Lady Bears had superb showings last week with two 3-0 wins against Jasper and Bridge City. Both victories were results of a total team effort given by every player. Their positive mindset & ability to stay fully engaged led to astounding team performances consisting of 18 aces, 70 kills, 85 digs, 70 assists, and 4 blocks.

October 21 – Congratulations to junior Jada Montagne for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. The level of intensity and enthusiasm Jada brings to the Lady Bears has been a key component in their success both offensively and defensively. In their 3-0 victory against WOS, Jada led the team in assists and aces with 21 and 4, respectively. She also chipped in 4 digs against the Lady Mustangs.

October 7 – Congratulations to senior captain Ava White for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. Ava was outstanding both offensively & defensively in the Lady Bears’ pair of victories last week against Lumberton and Jasper. In the two matches combined, she accumulated an impressive 22 digs, 9 aces, and 8 kills.

October 4 (LCM) – The Lady Bears downed the Jasper Lady Bulldogs in straight sets 25-7, 25-8, 25-11. The win puts LCM in a 3-way tie for first place in District 18-4A. The JV and Freshmen both won 2-0. It was a special night for the Baby Bears (below) as came out for the pre-game with the Lady Bears.

September 30 – Congratulations to seniors Lindi Perry and Ella Stephenson for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athletes of the Week. Last week against Vidor, Ella won both of her tennis matches played in singles & doubles. Lindi had outstanding offensive performances in both volleyball matches played against Bridge City and Vidor this past week. She exhibited smart & aggressive net play by contributing 12 kills against the Cardinals and 11 kills facing the Pirates.

September 27 (Vidor) – The Lady Bears travelled to Vidor Friday and completed the sweep over the Lady Pirates. The Varsity won 25-19, 25-17, 25-17. The Lady Bears JV and Freshman both won in two sets.

September 17 (LCM) – It was another clean sweep for the Lady Bears over the Woodville Lady Eagles. The varsity team won in three: 25-17, 25-19, and 25-11. Team Leaders were: Kills: Paisley Angelle (9), Ava White (7), Lindi Perry (6), Asia Woodson and Jazel Guilbeaux both with (5), and Marley Hyman (3). The offensive attack of Taylor Huckaby, Lahna Hughes, Kinsley Doucet, Austin Steele, Kyleigh Sowell, and Annsley Prince led the way behind the setting of Addison Frederick and Annsley Prince. The Freshmen won in two: 25-17 and 25-17. It was led by the great serving of Makenna Baze, Makayla Dougharty, and Josie Segelke. SUB VARSITY BRINGS HOME HARDWARE
September 14 (Bridge City) – The Lady Bear JV and Freshmen teams competed in the Bridge City Tournament and both brought home hardware. The JV (above) defeated Bob Hope to advance to the Championship of the Silver Bracket where they defeated Bridge City in two sets. The Freshmen (below) fell to Nederland early, but then bounced back to defeat Vidor in 3-sets to take 3rd place in the Silver Bracket.

September 9 – Congratulations to senior Jazel Guilbeaux for being selected as the LCM Lady Bears Athlete of the Week. Last week, Jazel proved to be a force on the front row by contributing 10 kills in the Lady Bears’ 3-0 victory against Anahuac. Her attack game continued to be stellar throughout the weekend, and played a significant role in helping her team win the Championship Match at the H-J Tournament.

LADY BEARS HOST ALUMNI GAME AND CASTINO TOURNAMENT
August 31 (LCM) – The Lady Bears had a busy weekend as the Varsity hosted their Alumni game Friday night and the Freshmen and JV took part in the inaugural Vicki Castino Classic. The JV took 1st place and the Freshmen placed 3rd in the three-day tournament that was named after longtime LCM volleyball coach Vicki Castino.

VARSITY FINISHES 6TH IN LUFKIN TOURNEY
August 24 (Lufkin) – The Lady Bears finished 6th in their bracket in the Lufkin VarsityVolleyball Tournament. LCM went 2-4 in the three day tourney. LCM fell to Nederland in three and PNG in two sets. They then picked up wins over Nacogdoches and Hamshire-Fannett. In the final two games, the Lady Bears fell to Spring Hill and to PNG.
