I have a Master's degree in Educational Supervision from Lamar University 1984
I have a Bachelor's of Science degree in Mathematics from Stephen F. Austin State University 1980
I have post baccalaureate hours from University of Texas at Austin, University of Houston, and South Carolina State University.
I graduated from Orangefield High School 1977
I am certified to math grades 6-12.
I am also certified to supervise educators.
I have been trained as an AP Calculus Reader (grader) and have graded AP Calculus test the past 14 summers.
I have completed an internship with Harcourt Educational Testing Company. I am a test item writer for the various state test.
I have participated in numerous TEA committees concerning mathematics curriculum and assessment.
I have been a Teacher Quality Grant author, administrator, and lead teacher.
I have presented at state and local math conferences.
I was hired at LCMCISD as the secondary math specialist in April 2007.
I currently teach STAAR Algebra at LCMHS and Algebra 1 at LCJH..
My other duties include setting up math curriculum and assessment for grades 6-12. I co-teach, observe, and provide professional development for the math teachers of the district. As well as providing educational support for students.
I have 42 years of experience as a professional educator.
I have taught at Bridge City, West Orange-Stark and Orangefield High schools.
I have taught at University of Houston, San Jacinto College, and Lamar State College-Orange.
My wife Demetria is a teacher in the Beaumont district.
My daughter Zoe graduated from LCMHS in 2022 and is currently at student at Tarelton State University..
My son lives and works in Vinton.
I have two grandson one 10 and the other is 14.
I enjoy watching basketball, reading, and listening to music.
